Children's Ministry
We believe that God has good plans for our kids at Cross Park Church, so we are excited to minister to them. When you join us on Sunday mornings there are classes available during the entire service for those 3 and a half or younger. These kids are also encouraged to join us for the worship service if that works for your family. Right before the sermon all kids through 1st grade are excused for class or Children's Worship. Children from 2nd grade and up have age-appropriate bulletins that help them engage the sermon and the passage of Scripture. We pray that your kids will enjoy learning about Jesus with us on Sunday mornings.
Children's Sunday School
Here are some details about the Children’s Fall Sunday School Program at Cross Park:
- Sunday school will begin at 9:30 and go until 10:15.
- Nursery will be available during the Sunday school hour for both Red and Orange Rooms.
- Options for parents during the SS hour include:
- Volunteering in the Nursery
- Attending the Prayer time
- Accompanying their 2nd-5th Grader to SS class (one parent should plan on attending weekly if possible)
- Your child’s/children’s room and/or class assignments are listed below.
- Sunday School classes will be:
- Yellow (2’s & 3’s)
- Blue (4’s – 1st Grade)
- 2nd-5th Graders/Communicant’s

What your kids will be learning
The Yellow class will be working through the “God Loves Me” curriculum. “God Loves Me” is a storybook-based curriculum which, through 52 illustrated retellings of Old and New Testament Bible stories, relates the theological theme that God loves us. Teachers are Greg and Jackie Ratzlaff, Jared and Rachel Meisel, and Tara Greer.
The Blue class will be using a curriculum through Children Desiring God, called “He Established a Testimony.” This curriculum walks through the Old Testament chronologically with a Christ-centered focus. Teachers are Rob and Lauren Reddick, Ashley Mink, and Debbie Herrman.
The 2nd-5th Grade/Communicant’s class will be using a book called, Understanding the Faith. Parents and children will be guided through the basics of faith in an effort to lay a strong foundation for their own growing faiths. Teachers are Jordan Olshefski, Chris Ferguson, Bruce and Mary Johnson, Jay Mink, Tyre and Sunny Green.
Children’s Worship will continue to be available for children 4 thru 1st Grade, and will continue to follow the Sermon topic. These children join their parents for Worship and are dismissed just prior to the sermon. Leaders are Cathy Culbertson, Tyre and Sunny Green, Karry and Rebecca Elson, and Ashley Icard.
Children 2nd Grade and older may join their parents for the duration of the Worship Service, including the sermon. Children’s bulletins are often provided, or you may encourage your child to take notes in their own journal during the sermon.
