We’ve already enjoyed a great ice cream social at the Newcott’s and much more is in store. To keep things as simple as possible\, we are planning to have a youth event every Wednesday at Hemby\, from 7-8:30 from June 19 to August 14 (minus July 3). We will alternate weeks between a normal ‘Youth Group’ night and a hang-out / fun event night. DESCRIPTION:One of the main pieces of feedback from our men’s retreat was more opportunities for the men of Cross Park to be together. We’d like to take advantage of that interest and call us together for monthly prayer. Brothers\, please plan to attend our men’s prayer event the third Saturday of every month from 7-8am. Will meet at the house on Hemby’s campus for 30 minutes of devotional/discussion (following up on the content of the men’s retreat) and 30 minutes of prayer for one another\, the church and our work in the world. Attendance at the men’s retreat is not a prerequisite for coming to this prayer gathering. We’d like to see this happen monthly and for it to become an important part of our corporate life together.\n\nNote: This is not a breakfast\, so you will want to have eaten beforehand and to bring your own coffee. SUMMARY:Men's Spring Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Beginning with dinner on Friday evening\, we will spend our retreat together in worship\, teaching\, prayer\, and rest. Rev. John Sittema will be our speaker\, leading us through a couple of sessions on the topic of faith and work. We’ll also hear testimonies from fellow Cross Parkers on how they have experienced the challenges and opportunities of being a Christian in a secular workplace. \nThere will be several hours of free time Saturday afternoon for you to explore or nap or hang out with buddies. We’ll then finish up with dinner together on the way home Saturday evening. Then able to worship with the broader church family on Sunday morning. \nThere is an optional add-on day Thursday night (March 21). We have secured 25 beds for Thursday night\, so if you are able to get off work Friday\, come on up Thursday and spend some personal time away. There won’t be any meals or programming until Friday evening\, but this add-on day could be a great opportunity to increase the impact of this retreat for you personally. \nCOST\n-ONE NIGHT: The cost is $110 (a bed with linens & 3 meals).\n-TWO NIGHTS: Thursday add-on is an additional $50 ($160 total if you do both nights).\n-Additional costs: pay for your own dinner Saturday night on the way home and\, if you come Thursday\, provide your own food until dinner Friday. \nSpace is limited. Register by Sunday\, March 17.

SUMMARY:Women's March "Come to the Table" Dinner
DESCRIPTION:We are hosting dinners in different homes on Thursday\, March 14! Once you sign up\, you will be placed in a group of 4-6 women\, hopefully geographically convenient\, and go to a host’s home to enjoy dinner together. The host will provide the main course\, and the attendees will bring sides/bread/dessert/drinks. Each group will also be given a prayer prompt. This is a great way for women to connect with one another\, get to know someone new\, and enjoy fellowshipping together in a home. Be sure to sign up by March 7! As with the Human Sexuality report we studied this past Fall\, the race report is available in book form\, with a number of other relevant PCA documents on the topic of race – The Pursuit of Gospel Unity. While race can certainly be a controversial and weighty topic\, we are not studying it to be controversial\, but to allow ourselves to be shaped by the Scripture’s teaching on important topics in our communities.
