As with the Human Sexuality report we studied this past Fall\, the race report is available in book form\, with a number of other relevant PCA documents on the topic of race – The Pursuit of Gospel Unity. If you would like a copy of that book\, please let Grant know and he will get one ordered for you. While race can certainly be a controversial and weighty topic\, we are not studying it to be controversial\, but to allow ourselves to be shaped by the Scripture’s teaching on important topics in our communities. You’re invited to a one-day seminar hosted by Uptown Church that equips you to see yourself and others in ways that foster deeper relationships. It helps you understand others by gaining a biblical understanding of your own heart through teaching\, personal examples\, and an interactive small group experience. DESCRIPTION:Sunday School for all ages will begin at our Fall Kick Off on Sunday 9/3 at 9:30AM. \nClass Locations for Sunday School\nNursery (birth-3yo): Magnolia (small room)/4\nYoung Children (4-2nd grade): Maple Cabin/8\nOlder Children (3rd-5th grade): Poplar Cabin/7\nYouth: Magnolia (large room)/4*\nAdults: Sycamore/5 \n*Youth will join the Adults in Sycamore for the first couple of weeks \nFall Sunday School Series\nThis fall\, the Youth and the Adults will be considering the topic of human sexuality. With all the confusion and challenges in our day related to the issues of gender and sexuality\, it is a crucial time for us to allow the Bible to speak into and shape our understanding and beliefs about these issues. We will be using our denomination’s recent study committee report as our basic text. You can find the whole report here. It is also available in book form under the title “A Body of the Lord” (with a few additional resources included). We will not be going through the entire report in detail\, but focusing on the Preamble & Twelve Statements which can be found here. Note: For several of the weeks of this Study (including the first two weeks)\, the Youth and Adults will be combined for Sunday School\, meeting in Sycamore.

DESCRIPTION:Dear Youth and Parents\, \nWith the interest form feedback in mind\, we are proceeding with the Youth Communicants Class on Sunday\, 4/30 after service in Magnolia. While this class is officially focused on what non-communing students need to know in order to become communing members\, we strongly encourage you to bring ANY and ALL youth with you to the class. Even if they are already communing members\, this class may help them understand better what it looks like to participate as a communing member. \nWhat to Expect\nWe will have lunch after church along with some extended teaching. We will talk about what it means to believe the gospel\, to participate in communion and in the life of the church as a communing member\, and how to continue to grow in your faith. With Covid\, many of our students missed teaching opportunities on these topics that we would have offered\, so we decided to offer this in a condensed way to all our youth. \nFurther Communicant Studies\nIf you are not able to participate for the 4/30 class\, we hope to provide another opportunity in the fall or winter. In addition\, we will continue to include communicant info in the 3rd-5th grade Children’s Ministry class on a regular basis in the fall. \nPlease complete this new RSVP form for all class attendees (youth and parents). \nAs always\, feel free to talk to the pastors or elders about your family’s situation and any questions you have on the topic: \njeff@crossparkchurch.org\ngrant@crossparkchurch.org\nelders@crossparkchurch.org \n
